Pre charter reading

Things to have with you:

General rules:

  • life jackets must be worn while big motor is running

  • any health concerns (heart conditions, diabetes, flu type illnesses) must be divulged prior leaving the dock.

  • no alcohol on board (ramp beers are available at the end of the day if requested)

  • littering will not be tolerated.

  • smoking is permitted provided its done with care and no littering.

Inclement weather:

The Great Lakes area can be volatile. If for any reason I feel weather of any kind poses any danger to myself or any client I reserve the right to cancel, cut short or postpone the trip. For trips cut short we will pro rate the time out based on 9hour day and the rate paid.

In the event of high winds there are sheltered areas to fish in the rivers but the fishing is technical and can be difficult. I’ll always offer you the choice to do that instead of cancelling or postponing a trip. Often a violent morning wind can calm and lead to great fishing in the afternoon.

Things to consider:

This trip is about you. So let’s have a conversation about your expectations, needs and wants. I’m not opposed to stopping at a local waterfront bar for a break or bite to eat or if you just rather cruise the lake because you’ve lost interest in fishing. I make no judgements and my biggest concern is that you enjoy yourself, so don’t be afraid to speak up.

Fishing is not always a guarantee of catching. I can only promise you I will use my knowledge base of countless on the water hours over years of fishing this water system to do my absolute best to put you on fish and hopefully giants. It’s pretty rare to not find them but some days are better then others.  Weather patterns and wind greatly effect how these fish position and behave and it may take us a little bit to figure them out, try not to get frustrated or disappointed if it doesn’t start off strong.
